At the University of Southern Mississippi I teach applied piano to graduate and undergraduate piano majors, serve as coordinator and teacher in the class piano program, and teach piano pedagogy.  I have a passion for teaching at the collegiate and pre-college levels. My applied University students are the recipients of international, regional, state, local, and University-level awards and honors such as the MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition, the solo and concerto categories of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association Collegiate Competitions, the USM William T. Gower Concerto Competition, the Marjorie Stricklin Emerging Artists Competition, and the Theodore Presser Award. They perform frequently for guest artists at the University of Southern Mississippi and in summer festivals in the United States and abroad.

Several of my DMA graduates have been hired as collegiate faculty members in tenure-track positions in the United States and in China. Others are employed as teachers in community music schools, elementary schools, and hold positions as band directors.

In the summer of 2011, I founded the Southern Miss Piano Institute (SMPI), which offers private lessons to pre-college students and adults in the community. I serve as director and teacher in the program.

My pre-college students receive numerous international, national, regional, state, and local awards for their performance.
